Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers, since 1938

The questions Seattle homeowners ask us most — about heating, cooling, air quality, maintenance, and paying for it all. Don't see yours? Call us and a real person will answer.

General Questions

What areas does Glendale Heating serve?

We serve the Greater Seattle area — including Seattle, Bellevue, Renton, Kent, Burien, Des Moines, Federal Way, Auburn, Tacoma, and surrounding King and Pierce County communities. Not sure if you're in our area? Call (206) 243-7700 and we'll let you know.

How long has Glendale been in business?

Since 1938 — that's 87+ years serving Seattle families. We're family-owned and now in our third generation, with many customers whose grandparents called us first.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Glendale Heating is fully licensed and insured in Washington State (WA Lic. GLENDHA053Q2). Every technician we send is trained, background-checked, and equipped to work safely in your home.

Do you offer emergency service?

We do. Our regular hours are Monday–Saturday, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with a Sunday emergency on-call technician for urgent problems (an after-hours call-out fee applies). Furnace out on a cold morning or AC down during a heat wave? Call (206) 243-7700 and we'll get a technician headed your way.

Heating & Cooling

Is a heat pump a good choice in Seattle?

Absolutely. Washington's mild winters are ideal for heat pumps — they heat efficiently nearly all year and cool your home in summer too. Ask us about current utility rebates that may apply to your home; it's one of the smartest upgrades a PNW homeowner can make.

How do I know if I should repair or replace my furnace?

It depends on age, repair cost, and efficiency. As a rule of thumb, if your system is over 12–15 years old and facing a major repair, replacement often saves money long-term. Our technician will give you the honest options so you can decide.

What brands do you install and service?

As an authorized Lennox dealer we specialize in high-efficiency Lennox systems, and our technicians service all major HVAC brands. We carry common parts on the truck so most repairs are handled in a single visit.

How fast can you get to me?

In most cases we offer same-day or next-day appointments across the Greater Seattle area. Emergencies jump to the front of the line.

Indoor Air Quality

Can my HVAC system protect against wildfire smoke?

Yes. During Seattle's smoke season, whole-home filtration and air purification capture the fine particulate that standard filters miss. We can design a system that keeps your indoor air clean when the air outside isn't.

Do I need a humidifier or a dehumidifier in the PNW?

It depends on your home. Many Seattle homes benefit from balanced humidity control to reduce allergens, condensation, and that damp-winter feeling. We'll assess your home and recommend the right solution.

Glendale Maintenance Plans

How often should I service my system?

We recommend two tune-ups a year — one in spring for cooling and one in fall for heating. Seasonal maintenance keeps efficiency high, prevents breakdowns, and protects your Lennox warranty.

What's included in Glendale Maintenance Plans?

Our Glendale Maintenance Plans start as low as $23/month and include professional maintenance visits (one per year on Essential, two on Elite), repair discounts of 10–20% by plan level, priority emergency scheduling, and accrual credit toward a future system replacement. See our membership plans for a full comparison.

Financing & Pricing

Do you offer financing?

We do. We offer flexible financing with approved credit through trusted partners — Service Finance for Lennox systems (ask about the current Lennox Summer Promotion), Synchrony for Mitsubishi systems, and GreenSky for any brand — and we help you find any utility rebates that apply. See our financing page.

Will I get an upfront price?

Always. We quote flat, upfront pricing before any work begins — so you know exactly what you're paying.

Are estimates on new systems free?

Yes — estimates on new system installations are free. We'll assess your home, walk you through right-sized options, and give you a clear written quote.
